Idly Milagai Podi

Idly Milagai Podi

Idly Milagai Podi is an all time favorite side dish for idly & dosa. I can eat it with idlies anytime of the day. Idly milagai podi is basically a dry powder made with roasted lentils and chilly. Can be mixed with ghee or sesame oil for great taste, or can be mixed with any cooking oil.

My son and I can have idly with idly milagai podi even three times in a day 🙂 We like it so much .. Though my husband is not a great fan of podi, as he does not like dry food stuff. But I always have stock of this. I enjoy having it mixed with rice too. You can add or replace some ingredients in this, the base being chana dal, urad dal and red chillies. I have added pepper , cumin seeds, sesame seeds. You may also roast and add curry leaves, garlic, kollu or horsegram to make it even healthier.
