Ragi puttu using idli steamer

ragi puttu
Ragi puttu is an easy and healthy recipe, that can be had for breakfast or even as an evening snack for kids back from school. It has the calcium rich ragi combined with iron rich jaggery , and mixed with coconut and elachi for the flavour. I learnt this recipe from my mother in law. She does it with so much ease. She does not require any specific utensil for making puttu. I have used idly steamer to make this here

Notes:

  • Ghee roasted cashews is just optional. Puttu is ready at step 6 actually.
  • You can replace ragi with rice flour and use the same procedure to make rice flour puttu.
  • You may also replace ragi flour with sathu maavu and use the same procedure to make puttu.
