Chicken Pakoda
Chicken Pakoda is quite common food in the villages of tamil nadu. It can be found in road side shops , hot and spicy. I used to enjoy this chicken pakoda whenever we went to my in-laws place , a small village near vellore. I got to know the recipe from there and it tastes really so so good.
Personally, I feel that the most important key to its taste is the amount of fresh ginger garlic paste that is used in it and the resting time, the more the better. Chicken pakoda is simply, chicken 65 in street food style. Its a treat for all chicken lovers. Here goes my recipe for chicken pakoda.

Now, quickly on to the making of chicken biriyani.. sorry sorry.. its chicken pakoda now..
Ingredients for Chicken Pakoda:
- Chicken – 3/4 kg
- Corn flour – 3 heaped teaspoons
- Salt – as per taste
- Red chilly powder – 1 tbsp
- Make a paste of ginger and garlic ( Ginger – 1/4 cup , Garlic – 1/2 cup minus 2 tsp )
- Vinegar – 1 tsp
- Lemon juice or shredded frozen lemon – 1 tsp
- Oil – to deep fry
Method:
1. Wash the chicken well and drain the water completely. Squeeze out the water as much as possible and set aside. If it has water , then the pakodas will absorb more oil . To consume less oil, please drain the water completely from the chicken.
2. Marinate the chicken pieces with salt, ginger garlic paste, red chilly powder, corn flour and vinegar.
3. Let it rest for 1 or 2 hours.
4. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the chicken pieces. Chicken pakoda is ready.
Serve hot !! Enjoy hot!!!
Tip: Chicken pakoda can be torn to pieces and be used in chicken fried rice or chicken noodles. Recipe coming soon!!! Keep watching!!!
