Chilli Bread
I have been wanting to try something with bread for quite sometime, other than bread upma or bread omlette. Found this chilli bread to be exciting with the flavors of capsicum and the different sauces that gave a chinese tint to it. Seeing the health quotient, hubby always prefers brown bread, this time it was loaded with ragi and oats too. So a much healthier version of bread. So lets quickly go thru the recipe of chilli bread !!
Ingredients for chilli bread:
- Whole wheat bread – 8
- Butter – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 3 tsp
- Garlic – 7
- Paprika – 2
- Tomato – 1
- Capsicum- 3
- salt – as per taste
- Soya sauce – 1 tsp
- Tomato sauce – 1 tsp
- Chilly sauce – 2 tsp
- Chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Method:
- Toast all the bread slices with butter.
- Heat oil in a pan and saute chopped garlic .
- Add paprika and saute them with the garlic for few minutes.
- Then, add tomato and saute till it becomes mushy.
- Add in the capsicums and saute them a little, it should not become soft, it should be crunchy.
- Now, add in the spice powders and sauces with salt and give a quick mix.
- Add half cup of water and let it come to boil.
- Meantime, cut the toasted bread into bit sized pieces.
- Add them into the pan and give a quick mix.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
Hot and tasty Chilli bread is ready to be enjoyed!!

Notes:
- Feel free to use a mix of vegetables, not restricted to capsicums.
- You may also use white bread or sandwich bread or any wheat bread.
- Adjust spice levels as per your taste buds. The measurements given here is quite spicy.
- You may also dry roast the breads without toasting them in butter, but this makes it even more tasty.
