Oats biscuits
Oats biscuits with oats and wheat flour – similar to the digestive biscuits , I got this recipe from my facebook group Home Bakers Guild, where from I have learnt a lot of cakes and cookies.. as usual this has come out very well , crispy and tasty.. Wanted to post it here so that I have a record of it to try again later 😉
Ingredients for oats biscuits:
Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
Oats flour – 1 cup(measure and grind it)
60 grams unsalted butter
Sugar – 3/4 cup
Milk – 1/4 cup( add more if required)
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
salt – 1/4 tsp ( skip this if using salted butter)
Method:
- Powder the oats in a mixer.
- In a wide bowl, add powdered oats, whole wheat flour , sugar and baking powder.
- Mix well , then add butter and rub it well so that the flour looks like bread crumbs.
- Add milk little by little , to make a soft dough.
- Refrigerate for half and hour, then roll it out on a butter paper.
- Make shapes as desired, then bake them in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes or until the edges turn brown colour.
- They may be soft while hot, but will become crispy as they cool down.
