Rava Ladoo

I prepared these rava ladoos for Krishna Jayanthi but could not find time to post it here that day.. These rava ladoos can be done quickly and they also stay good for many days at room temperature. I have used only ghee to make these, so they stay good longer. We can also add half of milk and half of ghee, but should be consumed within a day. I have used dessicated coconut which also stays good for more days. If using fresh coconut it needs to be dry roasted well.


Ingredients for Rava ladoo:

  • Rava(Sooji) – 1/2 cup
  • Coconut Flakes(Dessicated Coconut) – 1/2 cup
  • Sugar – 3/4 cup
  • Melted Ghee – 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp
  • Cashews- 1 tbsp broken roughly
  • Raisins – 1 tbsp
  • Coconut bits – 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp

Method:

1. In a pan, heat a tsp of ghee and roast cashews, raisins, coconut bits and set aside.
2. Add fine rava and roast it till nice aroma arises.
3. Grind together sugar, roasted rava and dessicated coconut.
4. Transfer the grinded powder to a bowl, add cardamom powder and the ghee roasted cashew, raisins and coconut.
5. Mix well and add hot ghee little by little and make ladoos.
